What is MSDN AA Academic Alliance? MSDN Academic Alliance is a membership program which allows academic departments to offer students and faculty access to a wide array of Microsoft’s Developer and Designer tools free of charge.

Free Software for Students
Whether your school department has chosen an Online (downloads-only) subscription or an Online+Media subscription, you are able to obtain free Microsoft software with a license that never expires—even after you graduate from Carleton! All you have to do is:
What software is available? Essentially all Microsoft software is available except for MS Office. Typically the professional versions of the O/S's are available, for example, Windows 7 Professional.

Student Requirements
Requirements for you to acquire Microsoft software online:
- the department of the course that you are enrolled in must be a member of the MSDNAA,
- meet the requirements set by Microsoft and your department; the Microsoft requirements are based on courses taken at Carleton University.

eLMS for MSDNAA
eLMS for MSDNAA supports participating academic departments world wide with a customized eLMS (e-academy License Management System) WebStore. Students can utilize eLMS to download the software.
