DreamSpark
Formerly known as MSDNAA
Free Microsoft Software available to students enrolled in participating departments at Carleton University.
What is DreamSpark?
DreamSpark is simple: it’s all about giving students Microsoft professional-level developer and designer tools at no charge. Check if your department is enrolled in DreamSpark (formerly known as the MSDNAA) then download your favourite Microsoft development tools for free!
Free Software for Students
Whether your school department has chosen an Online (downloads-only) subscription or an Online+Media subscription, you are able to obtain free Microsoft software with a license that never expires—even after you graduate from Carleton! All you have to do is: What software is available? Essentially all Microsoft software is available except for MS Office. Typically the professional versions of the O/S's are available, for example, Windows 7 Professional.
Student Requirements
Requirements for you to acquire Microsoft software online:
  • the department of the course that you are enrolled in must be a member of Dreamspark,
  • meet the requirements set by Microsoft and your department; the Microsoft requirements are based on courses taken at Carleton University.
Kivuto and DreamSpark
Kivuto Solutions Inc. (formerly e-academy or ELMS) is the company that hosts the data and license downloads for Dreamspark. Students and faculty use Kivuto webstore to download the Microsoft software.
